โลโก้ Studio Khara ฉลองครบรอบ 20 ปี พร้อมประกาศรับSign Upสตาฟสำหรับโปรเจกต์ใหม่

Studio Khara, the animation studio within the Khara group led by Hideaki Anno, has announced it is hiring for multiple positions to staff “next projects”, covering both the Digital and Production divisions. The news is particularly exciting because it comes right on the heels of an announcement that an all-new original Evangelion series is currently in production.

20 Years of Creative Work

Khara was founded on May 17, 2006; the company name is drawn from a Greek word meaning “joy.” The logo and corporate identity were designed by Moyoco Anno, board member and wife of Hideaki Anno. Then on September 15 of the same year, Studio Khara was established as its dedicated animation studio to produce the Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition (ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版) series.

On May 17, 2025 — Khara’s 20th anniversary — director Kazuya Tsurumaki drew a special commemorative illustration, while Hideaki Anno shared the following message:

“A company that started from a tiny room in a Nishi-Shinjuku office building with just three people — president, employee, and advisor — has grown to own its own studio, produced many works, and is still able to keep creating. All of this is because of everyone.”

Past Works and Upcoming Projects

Over the past 20 years, Khara and Studio Khara have produced a remarkable body of work, including:

  • Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version (シン・エヴァンゲリオン劇場版) (2021) — the finale of the Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition series, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki
  • Shin Ultraman (シン・ウルトラマン) (2022) — a film in which Anno served as screenwriter and planner
  • Shin Kamen Rider (シン・仮面ライダー) (2023) — directed and written by Anno himself
  • Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (機動戦士Gundam GQuuuuuuX) (2025) — the studio’s first collaborative work with Sunrise, directed by Tsurumaki

The project fans have been waiting for most eagerly is a brand-new original Evangelion series, which has already been announced as a co-production between Studio Khara and CloverWorks, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki and Toko Yatabe, though no further details have been disclosed.

Open Positions

This round of hiring covers the following roles:

  • Digital Division: CGI Director and Animation Director / Animator
  • Production Division: Production Coordinator and Digital Production Coordinator (Production Manager)

While the exact nature of the “next projects” has not been specified, the job posting has generated strong buzz among fans — particularly those closely watching developments on the new Evangelion series.
