An official website launched on Thursday to announce that Makoto Morishita‘s manga The Fledgling Demon Lord’s Starter Shop (Japanese title: Sudachi no Maōjō) is receiving a television anime adaptation, slated to debut in January 2027. The site unveiled a teaser promotional video, a teaser visual, and the anime’s main cast and staff. Morishita also drew a special illustration to mark the occasion.

Story
After the hero defeats the demon lord, the world finally returns to peace — but that spells trouble for Villager, a young man from Beginnerville. With no demon lord left to fight, people no longer need potions or items, leaving his shop, The Nest, completely empty and on the verge of closing. Just when things look bleakest, a mysterious girl suddenly appears and changes everything.
About the Manga
Morishita launched The Fledgling Demon Lord’s Starter Shop in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine in October 2021. The 12th compiled volume shipped on January 16. Kodansha’s K MANGA service publishes the manga in English.
Morishita is also known for IM: The Great Priest Imhotep, which ran in Square Enix’s Shonen Gangan magazine from January 2015 and concluded with its 11th volume in September 2018. Yen Press holds the English-language license.
