The production team behind Suikoden: The Anime — an adaptation of Konami’s classic RPG Suikoden II — released the series’ third full promotional video on Friday, revealing new details about its music and broadcast schedule.
Theme Songs
The opening theme is “Kanashimi Sae Otonabite” (Even in Sadness I’ll Look Like an Adult), performed by amazarashi. The newly announced ending theme is “closed eye sun” by Kōji Nakamura, featuring Honoka Takahashi.
Broadcast Schedule
The anime will make its television debut on October 3 on Tokyo MX at 11:30 p.m. JST (10:30 a.m. EDT), followed by broadcasts across 31 additional channels between October 6 and October 9.
Story
Konami describes the story of Suikoden II as follows: the hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which took part in a prolonged border conflict between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown. A truce was signed, bringing relief to both sides — but beneath the fragile peace, the embers of a new war continue to smolder.

Staff
Yūzō Satō (credited as YUZO on the anime’s English website) is directing at KONAMI animation, the game publisher’s in-house anime studio. Ryō Hino of NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan’s anime and music production department serves as producer and production manager.
Michihiro Tsuchiya (PriPara, ClassicaLoid) is handling series scripts. Fumi Ishikawa (Konami Digital Entertainment) is credited as the game character designer, Arata Suzuki (Konami Digital Entertainment) provided the original drafts for the anime character designs, and Ryō Yamauchi (My Master Has No Tail; Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!) is the anime character designer. Yoshikazu Iwanami (Psycho-Pass, Ghost in the Shell Arise) is sound director, and Kōji Nakamura (EUREKA SEVEN AO, Ping Pong live-action film) is composing the score.
Franchise Notes
The HD remaster Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launched in March 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The original Suikoden debuted on PlayStation in 1995, with Suikoden II following in 1998. The franchise spans five mainline entries and five spinoff titles. Konami is also developing a new mobile and PC title, Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap.
