With the Netflix animated film Super Kaguya-hime! gearing up for a special revival theatrical run starting 18 September 2026 at 249 cinemas across Japan, the cast has been keeping fans entertained on social media — and the latest exchange has gone viral for all the right reasons.

It started when Anna Nagase, the voice of Sakayori Ayaha, posted a photo on X captioned “Got Movic tickets with Saori Hayami-san‼︎” The image showed a card-style advance movie ticket featuring illustrations of Ayaha and Yachiyo — the latter voiced by Hayami herself — making it a very on-brand “movie date” between the two characters.

The post quickly caught the attention of Yuko Natsuyoshi, who voices the film’s protagonist Kaguya. She quote-tweeted with a simple but expressive “I’m so jealous!! I’m so jealous!!” — and the internet immediately lost it.

Fans flooded the replies with comments such as: “Kaguya just has to go too!!”, “That’s so cute,” “Kaguya is literally jealous…”, “This is so wholesome,” “She’s totally recreating the collab live scene,” and “The way she’s jealous is so perfectly Kaguya.” Some fans even wished aloud for all three voice actresses to go see the film together.

Super Kaguya-hime! is an original feature-length anime film set in a virtual space called Tsukuyomi, following a group of girls connected through song. Blending liver culture, music live performances, and social media aesthetics, the film resonated strongly with younger audiences after its Netflix debut in January 2026, followed by a theatrical release on 20 February 2026.

Though initially planned as a one-week limited run, the film sold out immediately upon ticket sales opening and went on to achieve a cumulative audience of 1.2 million viewers and box-office revenue exceeding 2.5 billion yen, with its theatrical run extending all the way to 18 June 2026.

Revival Screening Details

The revival run begins 18 September 2026 and will include special formats. Advance movie tickets (card type, 3 varieties) are on sale until 23:59 on 17 September 2026, alongside a digital Movic ticket featuring a group visual.

The Super Kaguya-hime! Official History Book goes on sale 18 September 2026 at participating cinemas and via the Shochiku official online store “anime Froovie.”

Theater Concession Item
