The TV anime team for 「スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり」(Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari) has revealed details about the special opening and ending songs, along with non-credit OP and ED videos for the ABEMA Exclusive version, which premieres on June 3, 2025 at 20:30.

About the Work

This anime is adapted from a manga by Jinushi, which began serialization on Twitter (now X) on March 9, 2022. The first chapter accumulated 280,000 likes, and it currently runs in Monthly Big Gangan magazine, having ranked No. 1 in the web manga category at the “Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2022” awards. Total print circulation has reached 2.5 million copies as of July 2025.

Story

Sasaki is a middle-aged salaryman burned out by work, who finds small pleasures in cigarettes and the smiles of Yamada, a regular supermarket clerk. One night after work, he goes to his usual spot behind the supermarket — only to find Yamada isn’t there. While standing there feeling lost, a woman named Tayama, dressed in an eccentric outfit, approaches and says, “You can smoke here” — and that moment marks the beginning of a slow-burn adult romance.

ABEMA Exclusive Version Special Songs

The opening song (OP) for the ABEMA Exclusive version is 「クズリ念」(Kuzuri Nen) by ずっと真夜中でいいのに。(Zutomayo), the same artist responsible for the TV broadcast OP. The non-credit OP video depicts a tired Sasaki being encouraged by Yamada and returning to life, including scenes of the two spending time together behind the supermarket across the seasons. The song’s signature intensity enhances the mature drama of this story.

The ending song (ED) for the ABEMA Exclusive version is 「NIGHT DANCER」 by imase, the same artist as the TV broadcast ED. The non-credit ED offers a glimpse into Yamada and Tayama’s everyday lives, from working at the supermarket to their regular meeting spot after closing. The soft, tender vocals of imase and the “nighttime” atmosphere of the song beautifully capture the relationship between the two.

Both the OP and ED for the ABEMA Exclusive version use songs specially arranged for this version exclusively, with animation that differs from the TV broadcast version.

ABEMA Exclusive Version Details

The ABEMA Exclusive version launching on June 3, 2025 will present episodes 1–6 of the TV version re-edited into approximately 10-minute short episodes, released in sequential order.

TV Broadcast Version Songs

Additionally, the TV broadcast OP by Zutomayo has been revealed as 「イチジク煙」(Ichijiku Kemuri), and the second Main PV featuring this song will be released soon. The TV broadcast ED by imase is 「Fiction」.

A TBS Radio program has also been announced, with further details to be revealed soon.
