The production team behind the TV anime Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり), based on the original manga by Jishu, has released six new scene cuts alongside a taxi advertisement spot video.
Scene Cuts: Two Sides of the Same Person
The six newly released images spotlight the dual charm of Yamada and Tayama — two personas belonging to the same character. Highlights include Yamada’s bright, beaming smile as a supermarket cashier who serves as a source of comfort for Sasaki after his shifts, as well as a smoking scene featuring Tayama, where she spontaneously invites the lost-for-a-smoking-spot Sasaki to join her behind the supermarket.
Taxi Ad Spot Set to Ending Theme
The taxi advertisement spot features interactions between Sasaki and Tayama at the smoking area, set to the ending theme “Fiction” by imase. The ad is scheduled to air for one week starting June 29, reaching 36 prefectures across Japan. Viewers can catch it on the rear-seat tablets installed in taxis bookable through the GO taxi-hailing app.
Broadcast & Streaming Schedule
The TV anime is set to begin its television broadcast on July 9, 2026. An ABEMA-exclusive advance version, splitting episodes 1–6 into roughly 10-minute short segments, has been available since June.
