The summer 2026 anime Tenkōsaki no Seiso Karena Bishōjo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi Datta Ken — known by its short title “Tenbin” — has released the synopsis and preview stills for Episode 1, “A Summer Day of Beginnings” (始まりの、夏の日), set to air on Monday, July 6, 2026.
About the Series
Tenbin is adapted from the light novel written by Hibariyu with illustrations by Shiso, published under KADOKAWA’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint. The story is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about a boy who reunites with a childhood friend he once thought was a fellow guy. A manga adaptation illustrated by Oyama Kiyuna is currently available in seven volumes, while the original light novel will conclude with its eleventh volume, due out on July 31. The anime is produced by project No.9 under the direction of Xu Chuanfeng (徐傳峰).

Episode 1 Synopsis: “A Summer Day of Beginnings”
When Kirishima Hayato was young, he had a close childhood friend named “Haruki” with whom he spent countless happy days — until Haruki had to move away. Before parting, the two made a promise: “Even if we’re far apart, we’ll always be friends.”
Seven years later, Hayato transfers to a high school in the city and meets Nikaido Haruki — a graceful, beautiful girl whom classmates call an “unattainable flower.” While introducing himself to the class, Hayato cheerfully recounts memories of his mischievous childhood friend “Haruki.” But upon hearing his stories, the elegant Haruki inexplicably turns sulky. A bewildered Hayato tries to find out why — and her answer is…
