The production team behind That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) Season 4 announced on Friday that the anime will return for its third cours in July 2027. Alongside that news, the team revealed that Wataru Kajika‘s spinoff manga That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman’s Revenge will receive a television anime adaptation, set to debut in April 2027.
Clayman’s Revenge Spinoff: Staff and Cast
Takehito Koyasu returns to the franchise to voice Clayman. Kentarō Sugimoto — known for his episode directing work on Blue Lock and Laid-Back Camp TV Season 3 — is directing the spinoff at studio 8-Bit.

Kajika launched the spinoff manga in April 2022. Kodansha’s K MANGA service distributes the manga digitally in English. The ninth compiled volume was published on August 7. The story follows Clayman after his apparent defeat at the Walpurgis Festival, as fate grants him one final act on his own stage.
Season 4: Five Cours Total
Season 4 is planned for a total run of five cours, with the first two cours having already aired consecutively. The third cours is scheduled for July 2027. Studio 8-Bit continues to animate the season, with Miho Okasaki reprising her role as protagonist Rimuru Tempest.
Franchise History
Fuse originally serialized the story on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website from 2013 to 2016, accumulating over 400 million page views. Micro Magazine began publishing the light novel series in print with illustrations by Mitz Vah in 2014. The novel series concluded with its 23rd and final volume on November 29, accompanied by a spinoff side-story volume titled Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Toaru Kyūka no Sugoshi-kata. A new side-story novel series is also in the works, with its first part slated for 2026. Yen Press publishes the novels in English.
The first television anime, adapting Taiki Kawakami‘s manga version, premiered in October 2018. Season 2 followed in January 2021, alongside the The Slime Diaries spinoff anime in April 2021. Season 3 debuted in April 2024 and ran for two consecutive cours.
The second anime film, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, opened in Japan on February 27. Crunchyroll screened the film theatrically in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland on May 1, in both subtitled and dubbed formats.
