The TV anime team adapting Kureha’s light novel The Ogre’s Bride (Oni no Hanayome) released a new trailer last Saturday, revealing three more voice cast members.

Synopsis
The story takes place in a modern Japan where humans and demons coexist in peace. Yuzu is an ordinary high school girl who is constantly overshadowed by her older sister’s reputation — a sister who happens to be the bride of a demon lord. Yuzu’s life turns upside down when she encounters Oni, a handsome demon who declares that she is his bride.

About the Source Material
Kureha began publishing this light novel series on Starts Publishing’s Novema! platform in 2019, where it won the grand prize in the First Novema! Character Short Story Contest. The series currently spans 9 volumes (the latest released in May 2024), with illustrations by Yū Shiroya.
A manga adaptation by Jun Togashi launched in Starts Publishing’s Noicomi magazine in November 2021 and ranked first in the women’s manga category on Noicomi in both 2022 and 2023 consecutively. The manga currently stands at 8 collected volumes (latest released November 26) and can be read in English on MangaPlaza.
Combined circulation of the light novel and manga has surpassed 5.8 million copies. The series also received a stage adaptation that ran from March 27 of last year, selling approximately 146,000 tickets in its opening week alone — generating an estimated 202 million yen (roughly $1.27 million USD) in revenue.
The TV anime The Ogre’s Bride is scheduled to premiere in July 2026.
