Tomb Raider King, the popular webtoon illustrated by 3B2S, scripted by Yuns of REDICE STUDIO, based on the original story by SAN.G, and featuring character designs by P-crush, is being adapted into a Korean animated series. The first official trailer with Korean dubbing has now been revealed, along with the Korean broadcast schedule.
Release Schedule and Platforms
For viewers in Japan, Kadokawa confirmed that the series will begin airing on July 8 on Fuji TV and Kansai TV under the Japanese title Tokutsuou, with a Japanese dub. Crunchyroll will stream the series alongside the broadcast.
Before that, a world premiere stream of the first two episodes will take place on Kadokawa’s YouTube channel on June 13 at 17:30 JST. Korean anime streaming platform Laftel will also release the first two episodes early at the same time, 17:30 KST.
Staff and Theme Song
The animation is produced by STUDIO EEK and directed by Seung Wook Woo. Hyun-Jung Lee handles character design and serves as chief animation director, while Ju Young Kim composes the music. The opening theme is “Show Down” by Korean girl group QWER. The trailer uses the Korean version of the song, while the Japanese broadcast will use a Japanese version.
Story
Mysterious tombs suddenly appear around the world, each containing relics that grant supernatural powers. Seo Joo-Heon is an experienced explorer and tomb raider, but after being betrayed by his employer and nearly killed by a new relic, he finds himself sent 15 years into the past, before the tombs and relics appeared. Armed with revenge and knowledge of the future, Joo-Heon uses everything he has to become the Tomb Raider King.
Webtoon and Original Novel
The English version of the Tomb Raider King webtoon is available digitally through Tapas, while the print edition is released by Ize Press. Volume 14 was released on April 21. The webtoon adapts SAN.G’s web novel, whose English version is available on Tapas, Wuxiaworld, and Wattpad.
