The TV anime 「Tongari Boshi no Atelier」 (Witch Hat Atelier), adapted from the original manga by Kamome Shirahama, revealed a new story visual along with the synopsis and preview stills for episode 10, which will air on June 8.
New Story Visual: Coco & Tata
The latest story visual presents an important moment for Coco and Tata, a boy who works at a magic supply shop in the town of Karn. The two meet in this town, and the visual highlights their relationship and story in an intriguing way.
Episode 10: “Silver Promise”
Episode 10 begins with Qifrey and Tata taking Coco, who has collapsed and fallen ill, to the hospital. When Tata learns that Coco became Qifrey’s apprentice despite being an “unaware one,” complicated feelings arise in his heart because he sees himself in her. Tata has a condition called 「銀彩症 (Gindamisho)」, which causes him to see everything as if it were covered in silver.
While his thoughts continue to swirl, a fire breaks out in the middle of town. Qifrey rushes out to help the injured, leaving Tata alone to deal with Coco’s worsening condition. Tata hurries to search for medicine in the storage room, but identifying each medicine without relying on color is extremely difficult for him.
Interview with Director Ayumu Watanabe
Comic Natalie has also published an interview with Ayumu Watanabe, the director of the anime. In it, he discusses his intentions in portraying the artwork and world of the original manga, his collaboration with Shirahama, and the soundtrack created specially by Eve and Nakamura Hak to match the atmosphere of the anime’s world.
