No. 1 — Mash Burnedead, Mashle: Magic and Muscles
Mash topped the chart with approximately 32% of the vote, repeating his first-place finish from the previous poll. The protagonist of Mashle cannot use magic, compensating instead with a supremely trained physique — and his trademark jet-black, perfectly rounded mushroom-cut hair.
Readers noted the obvious connection: “The name says it all — when you think mush hair, you think Mash Burnedead.” Others pointed out that both the character’s name and the series title contain “Mash,” likely a wordplay on “muscle.” Fans also praised his deadpan personality and habit of solving every problem with brute strength as a perfect match for the hairstyle.
Looking ahead, the TV anime’s third season — covering the “Three Demon Gods vs. Divine Visionary Final Exam” arc — is scheduled to air in January 2027.
No. 2 — Inumaki Toge, Jujutsu Kaisen
Inumaki secured second place with around 6% of the vote, the same position he held in the previous survey. As a cursed-speech user who must limit his words to avoid accidentally cursing others, Inumaki communicates mainly through rice-ball filling names — a quirk that, combined with his pale mushroom-cut hair and mouth-covering collar, gives him an irresistibly mysterious air.
Fans were captivated by the contrast between his cool appearance and endearing behavior: “In battle scenes, his sharp, beautiful eyes glimpsed through his bangs amplify his coolness. The stylish mush hair, the high-collared uniform hiding his mouth, and the fact that he only speaks in onigiri fillings — the gap is irresistible.”
No. 3 (Tied) — Sakura Momoko, Chibi Maruko-chan & Rock Lee, NARUTO
- Sakura Momoko from Chibi Maruko-chan normally sports a plain bob, but in the episode “Maruko’s Outrageous New Year’s Eve,” an over-enthusiastic haircut leaves her with a mushroom-shaped style that viewers have never forgotten.
- Rock Lee from NARUTO is a Leaf Village ninja who, unable to use ninjutsu, has mastered taijutsu through relentless training. His mushroom cut, thick eyebrows, and green jumpsuit — all mirroring his mentor Might Guy — combined with his passionate yet courteous personality earned him strong support.
No. 5 — Bruno Bucciarati, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
Rounding out the top five, Bucciarati’s silhouette was described as distinctly mushroom-like despite having some bob elements — and fans agreed it still looks undeniably cool.
