The film 「それいけ！アンパンマン パンタンと約束の星」 (Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi) has revealed that Kenjiro Tsuda will voice a new character named Nyakkuru (ニャックル), one of the key figures driving the story.
Who Is Nyakkuru?
Nyakkuru is an adventurer who once traveled with Pantan toward the “Rainbow Star” in the past, and he is a new character who holds an important key to the story. Tsuda commented on the character:
“Nyakkuru is a calm, composed adult filled with an adventurer’s spirit. He has both strength and kindness, and he is a truly appealing adult character.”
Joining Anpanman for the First Time
Tsuda said he had never been involved with Anpanman before, so he was very happy to receive the opportunity, especially as a character with an important role in the film. He also described the recording booth as full of veteran voice actors whose voices he had known for years, making the experience warm and deeply inspiring.
He also spoke about first meeting Keiko Toda, the voice of Anpanman, through a TV drama before meeting her again in the recording booth. He recalled being impressed when Ryūsei Nakao, the voice of Baikinman, sang “Anpanman no March” at an event and switched into Baikinman’s voice halfway through, thrilling the audience. That memory helped make Baikinman one of Tsuda’s favorite characters.
Highlights of the Film
Tsuda said this installment does not speak only to children, but also includes layers adults can feel, such as growth, the passage of time and the value of each day, without feeling preachy. He recommended that families across generations, including parents, children and grandparents, see it together.
Synopsis
The story follows Pantan, a red panda cursed by Baikinman and turned into a child. Pantan sets out on an adventure with Anpanman and friends to keep a promise made to Nyakkuru. Tao Tsuchiya voices Pantan.
