Tubi TV announced this past Monday that it has licensed Yokoso Scooby-Doo!, a new anime chapter in the beloved Scooby-Doo franchise, with Warner Bros. Animation serving as producer and OLM — the studio widely known for the Pokémon series — handling animation duties.
Creative Team and Cast
The series is directed by Itsuro Kawasaki, whose previous directing credits include Baban Baban Ban Vampire, Cardfight!! Vanguard (2018), and The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil. Francisco Paredes is also involved as co-producer.
On the voice cast side, Frank Welker returns to voice Scooby-Doo once again, while Matthew Lillard reprises his role as best pal Shaggy.
Story
Scooby-Doo and Shaggy travel to Japan to conquer an even greater eating challenge than ever before — but accidentally unleash a legendary creature from the tales of the land before the chaos spreads across the country. The duo must team up with Daisuke-Do, Scooby’s uncle, and new friends Yume, a young spell-casting girl, and Takumi, a gadget genius, to crack a thrilling mystery in the heart of the commotion.
Connection to Earlier Projects
Earlier, Warner Bros. Animation had unveiled a similarly themed series called Go-Go Mystery Machine at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2024, initially targeting a Cartoon Network release — but it was never confirmed whether that project and Yokoso Scooby-Doo! are one and the same.
Scooby-Doo! Gokko — Another Anime Project
Separately, Warner Bros. announced at a Brazil event in November 2025 that it is producing Scooby-Doo! Gokko, an animated short series targeting a 2027 launch centered on Scooby and Shaggy. No studio has been named yet for the animation work on that project.
Scooby-Doo! Gokko follows the same style as Tom & Jerry Gokko, a Warner Bros. Japan animated short series based on the Tom & Jerry franchise that launched in November 2022 and continues to release new episodes monthly, with animation handled by Fanworks (Aggretsuko) and animation support from Studio Nanahoshi.
