โลโก้เกม Uta Macross เวอร์ชันรีไวเวิลสำหรับ Steam, iOS และ Android

The crowdfunding campaign for Uta Macross — a “revival” of Uta Macross: Smartphone De Culture, the Macross franchise’s first rhythm game — blew past its 30,000,000 yen (approximately US$190,000) goal within the very first hour of launching on September 10. Every initial stretch goal was also cleared on the same day.

Those stretch goals fund an unspecified console version of the game as well as additional songs. Since then, two further stretch goals have been added: expanding the included art book to feature all artwork, and releasing “multiple console versions.” As of press time, the campaign has raised 114,015,515 yen (approximately US$735,300), and will remain open until October 31.

About the Game

Uta Macross is a rhythm game bringing together singers and pilots from across the Macross franchise. Players can enjoy a wide selection of classic songs that have defined the series, featuring characters from The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross Frontier, and Macross Delta — drawn from both their TV series and theatrical film entries.

The game carries over popular content from the original live-service version, including live performances and artwork, while being rebuilt from the ground up for Steam, iOS, and Android. The original smartphone controls are being redesigned to also support mouse and keyboard input, alongside full offline play.

Standard Edition Content

  • 50 songs included at launch
  • Over 1,000 Plate illustrations of 4-star rarity or higher to collect
  • Over 20 outfits per singer
  • A completely free-to-play gacha system for Plates

Origins of the Original Game

The original Uta Macross: Smartphone De Culture launched on iOS and Android in August 2017, having been delayed from a planned spring 2017 release. Billed as the “first super-dimensional rhythm game” in the Macross franchise, it featured the tactical music unit Walkūre from Macross Delta alongside beloved characters such as Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee. The game ended its service run in June 2022.
