The staff for the TV anime based on Witch Hat Atelier, the manga by Kamome Shirahama, has announced two additional cast members. The two will appear in episodes 10 and 11, which air on June 8 and June 15 respectively.
Staff and Production Team
The anime is directed by Ayumu Watanabe, known for works such as Ace Attorney and the Doraemon film series, and is produced at BUG FILMS. Hiroaki Kojima, who previously served as animation producer on Komi Can’t Communicate, is producing this project. Kairi Unabara of Pokémon Evolutions is handling character design and chief animation direction, while Yuka Kitamura, composer for the game Elden Ring, is in charge of the series’ music.

Theme Songs
The opening theme is “Kaze no Anthem feat. suis from yorushika”, performed by Eve and suis. The ending themes are three songs by Nakamura Hak: “Tada Utsukushii no Noroi”, “Yoru ni Ukabu” and “Hikari”.
Broadcast and Streaming
The anime premiered on April 6 on Tokyo MX and other channels. Crunchyroll streams the series as it airs and also offers an English dub.
About the Original Manga
Shirahama began serializing the manga in Kodansha’s Morning two magazine in July 2016. The 16th compiled volume was released on April 23. Kodansha USA Publishing began releasing the English edition in April 2019.
The work was nominated for Best Comic at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2019 and was also nominated for the 11th Manga Taisho award in 2018. It ranked in the Top 10 of the male readers’ list in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2018 and was selected for the American Library Association’s YALSA Top Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens list in 2020. The Harvey Awards named the series Best Manga in both 2020 and 2025. The manga currently has more than 7 million copies in circulation worldwide.
