The passing of Yamazaki Wakana (Yamazaki Wakana), the voice actress beloved for her role as Ran Mouri in the anime 名探偵コナン (Detective Conan — ยอดนักสืบจิ๋วโคนัน), became the most-read news story on the Comic Natalie website during the week of May 14–20, 2026.
The news of Yamazaki’s passing was officially announced on May 15, 2026 via the website of Aoni Production, her talent agency, with no further details disclosed.
Aoyama Gosho (Aoyama Gosho), creator and manga artist of “Detective Conan,” expressed his condolences through the anime’s official website, writing:
“That gentle, warm voice that always made us feel so close to her… We will never hear it again. I truly feel a deep sense of loss.”
As for the role of Ran Mouri, after Yamazaki took a leave of absence prior to this, Okamura Akemi (Okamura Akemi) has been serving as her permanent replacement and will continue to voice Ran Mouri going forward.
