The staff of the TV anime 「鎧真伝サムライトルーパー」 (Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers) officially revealed the main PV and key visual for the second cour. Three new voice cast members were also announced: Tomoaki Maeno as Gomei, Aya Endo as Shimei, and Hiroshi Shirokuma as Gaimei.

Second Cour Story

The series is a direct sequel to the classic anime 「鎧伝サムライトルーパー」, which aired from April 1988 to March 1989. The first cour began airing on January 6, 2026.

The second cour continues three months after the Samurai Troopers defeated Rajinga and were separated from Kai. To protect the human world, they enter Yojakai and face the Ten Warriors once again. This time, however, they must also confront a new threat from Tendokai and encounter an unexpected person.

Broadcast and Streaming Schedule

The second cour will premiere simultaneously on July 7, 2026 on the following channels:

• TOKYO MX – Tuesdays at 11:30 p.m.
• 関西テレビ (Kansai TV) – Tuesdays at 1:19 a.m.
• BS11 – Tuesdays at 12:00 a.m.

Unlimited streaming will begin the same day on U-NEXT, Anime Houdai, and d Anime Store, with new episodes updated every Tuesday at 12:00 a.m.

Second Cour Theme Songs

The second cour opening theme is 「BAD 遺伝子」 by Dannie May, while the ending theme is 「ばけもん」 by カラノア (Karanoa).

Dannie May described the concept behind the opening theme: “We were asked to express a grand parent-child fight, so we packed the song with the frustration that explodes during adolescence. That feeling that just a few centimeters of distance before understanding each other can feel so far away. I hope everyone listens to it.”

Yudai of Karanoa said of the ending theme: “I wrote this song by asking myself how I would feel if I were a Samurai Trooper. They live in such a harsh world. I wanted to convey the pain of heroes who look bright on the outside, the reality that is not as beautiful as an advertisement, and the cruel fate they must face.”

Cast and Comments

In addition to the three newly announced cast members, previously announced cast members for Tendokai characters include Maaya Sakamoto as Yashimano Sakume and Takehito Koyasu as Inmei.

Each cast member shared the following comments:

Maaya Sakamoto (Yashimano Sakume): “I feel deeply honored to be part of a work that has been loved for so long. I tried to preserve the energy that has been passed down each time we recorded. I am very excited to see how everyone receives the mysterious character Sakume.”

Takehito Koyasu (Inmei): “The second cour is here! Inmei, whom I play, will start taking serious action. But is he an enemy or an ally? Please look forward to developments where mysteries pile on top of mysteries!”

Tomoaki Maeno (Gomei): “I am very honored to be involved in this valuable work. Every character has their own goals and beliefs, and it is fascinating to see what happens when those collide. The team gets excited each time we receive a new script. I hope everyone follows the story with us.”

Aya Endo (Shimei): “I play Shimei, a woman with a snake wrapped around her body. Just like the samurai, our side also has something it wants to protect!”

Hiroshi Shirokuma (Gaimei): “Have you ever felt that even when you are trying your hardest, you are floating alone? Like the only senior being looked down on by juniors. This is a role about a character trying to make himself look strong.”
