The stage production 「超ハジケステージ☆ボボボーボ・ボーボボ ~因縁!鼻毛!決戦!~」 (Cho Hajike Stage ☆ Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo ~Innen! Hanage! Kessen!~), based on the manga by Hiroo Sawai, officially opened on June 12 at Theater G Rosso in Tokyo. Stage photos were released alongside the opening.
The “Real” Story Begins
This is the second installment following the October 2024 production Cho Hajike Stage ☆ Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, which made waves by racing through all 21 volumes of the manga in roughly two hours. The new show frames that first run as a “trailer,” declaring that the real story starts here — this time pacing through the narrative from the beginning at a more deliberate tempo.
A Three-Tier Stage Built for Chaos
The production makes full use of a 7.5-meter-tall, three-level integrated stage structure, with cast members flying across it in every direction via wire action rigs and trap-door mechanisms. Signature visual gags from the first show return — including a giant Bobobo face with its iconic afro, nostril props emerging from both sides of the stage, and a pre-show slideshow — while new elements expand the world.
New cast member Osamu Narumatsu joins as Gunkan, engaging in an intense battle with Bobobo, and Miyu Kishi makes her debut in the role of Suzu. Junya Komatsu, who plays Softon, contributes voice work only, with ensemble performers providing the character’s physical presence on stage.
Run Dates and Live Streaming
The show runs through June 21. Three performances — the 12:00 and 17:00 shows on June 20, and the closing performance (senshuraku) on June 21 at 12:00 — will be available as paid live streams on DMM TV.
Cast Comments
- Sho Kato (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo): “I genuinely believe the world needs Bobobo’s power right now. Unlike the first show, we’re building the story from scratch this time, so newcomers can jump right in. And no two performances will ever be the same — not literally even once.”
- Haruka Kudo (Beauty): “After nearly two years, the Bobobo world is back! I’ll give everything I have as Beauty right through to the final curtain.”
- Yuta Higuchi (Heppokomaru): “We’ve powered up from last time. When you walk out of the theater saying ‘I’m exhausted,’ that’s the right answer.”
- Long Coat Daddy Usagi (Tokoro Tennosuke): “The three-dimensional action at Theater G Rosso is incredible — it’s absolute mayhem up there. I practiced harder than anyone, and I’m going to trust that.”
- Kosuke Kujiraii (Don Patch): “Early rehearsals had me thinking, ‘What even is this scene?’ Now I don’t think at all — I just Hajike. Because I am Don Patch.”
- Osamu Narumatsu (Gunkan): “I was anxious at first — it was my first manga-based stage show, and my first time singing and dancing on stage. But with the support of the whole team, that anxiety has turned into confidence. It’s hundreds of times more fun than I imagined.”
- Miyu Kishi (Suzu): “I’ve been looking forward to this since I got the offer. We laughed every single day in rehearsals. I hope everyone in the audience leaves feeling energized — let’s all Hajike together!”
