The upcoming BL drama Shimobe no Ouji-sama (しもべの王子様), based on the manga by Tatsumoto Mio, has unveiled a 60-second trailer using footage from the series itself, along with its main visual, additional cast members, and opening theme song.
Story
The series follows Naoya, who once reigned like a prince during his school days, and Takaaki, the devoted “servant” who always obeyed him. Ten years later, their social standings have reversed: Naoya has failed at running a business and is now unemployed, while Takaaki has risen to become the young CEO of a successful startup. Yet the warped master-servant dynamic between them persists.
Trailer and Main Visual
The trailer opens with a high-school scene in which Naoya commands Takaaki to lick his feet, before cutting to their adult lives where, despite the role reversal, the twisted bond endures. A standout moment shows Takaaki kissing Naoya’s hand, declaring, “My happiness is fulfilling Naoya’s every wish” — as if pledging fealty to a prince. The main visual wraps the two characters in a veil-like motif, evoking a private “nest” that no one else can enter.
Additional Cast
Yamanaka Satoshi has been cast as Goto Taketoshi, Naoya’s father and president of the major construction firm Goto Kensetsu. Yamanaka commented: “Being surrounded by bright, handsome young men like Ogawa Fuminori, Seto Toshiki, Fujibayashi Yasuya, and Shimizu Kairi — the set was dazzlingly radiant. I’m sure that sparkle will come through to viewers.”
Opening Theme: “偏愛シンドローム” by BUDDiiS
The opening theme is “Hen’ai Syndrome” (偏愛シンドローム) by BUDDiiS, the group led by FUMINORI — the stage name of Ogawa Fuminori, who also stars as Naoya. Written exclusively for the drama, the song captures the dangerously single-minded feeling of falling so deeply in love that no one else exists, wrapped in a sweet and catchy pop package.
FUMINORI shared his excitement: “The opening theme for a drama I’m starring in… I’m beyond happy!!! The more you watch the drama, the more addicted to this song you’ll become. I hope it makes everyone’s hearts flutter!!”
