งานイベントก่อนฉาย Shin Gekijouban☆Keroro Gunsou ที่ Yurakucho Asahi Hall โตเกียว

A pre-release event for Shin Gekijouban☆Keroro Gunsou: Fukkatsu shite Sokkou Chikyuu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu! was held on June 16 at Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Tokyo. Attendees included voice actresses Kumiko Watanabe (Keroro Gunsou) and Etsuko Kozakura (Tamama Nitohei), singer ano, and comedian Sohin (粗品) of the duo Shimofuri Myojo.

The Series Returns After 16 Years

Based on the manga by Yoshizaki Mine, the film is the latest entry in the Keroro Gunsou franchise. The story follows Keroro Platoon as they face the strongest enemy in the series, staking their pride as “invaders” on the outcome. The film opens in Japan on June 26, 2026. A Keroro mascot costume appeared at the start of the event, and when Watanabe provided live voice acting for it, Sohin — standing right next to the costume — was so startled by the voice coming from the opposite direction that he turned the wrong way, drawing laughs from the crowd.

“It Felt Like Hitting Continue From a Save Point”

When the MC asked about the recording sessions after a roughly 16-year gap, Kozakura said it felt like they had “just recorded together last week.” Watanabe agreed, saying, “It wasn’t a reunion — it felt more like continuing from a save point. I didn’t feel like any time had passed at all.” The pair’s easy chemistry reflects the seven years the TV anime ran continuously.

Favorite Characters

Ano said she loves all the characters but, pressed to choose, picked Tamama, citing the character’s dual nature — adorable on the surface but terrifying when angry. She added that she relates to Tamama’s tendency to go on rampages without worrying about those around her, and appreciates how the series portrays that side of the character in a cute way. Kozakura responded with a delighted cheer.

Sohin chose Corporal Giroro, a battle-hardened warrior who harbors a devoted one-sided love for Hinata Natsumi. “As a man, I find that deeply cool — I want to be like that,” Sohin said. However, when reminded that Giroro fell for Natsumi after losing a fight to her, Sohin tilted his head and admitted, “I honestly don’t get that part,” getting a big laugh from the audience.

Music by Ano and Sohin

Ano and Sohin jointly perform the opening theme “Mata Kaette Kita Kero! to March.” Additionally, ano performs the main theme “Kashippanashi Destiny” as a solo artist. Watanabe praised the opening theme as “so cute!” and said the spoken-word section “fits the world of Keroro perfectly.” Kozakura noted that the death-voice section in “Kashippanashi Destiny” reminded her of Tamama in a rage — something ano confirmed was intentional, showing her respect for the source material. Kozakura added, “There are bittersweet moments when you listen to the whole thing. I really love it.”

Sohin Thanks Team for Offer During “Risky” Period — Then Jokes His Role Could Be Cut

Sohin reflected on the fact that when the Keroro team approached him, he was going through a period when he was “a risky person for anyone to hire,” having faced significant backlash online. He said he was genuinely grateful to the team for reaching out and threw himself into the recording sessions with extra determination.

When he found out his role was “a man in Shibuya who gets possessed by a spirit and gets fired up,” however, Sohin deadpanned that it was “exactly the kind of role they could cut in an instant if anything happened” — drawing more laughter — before insisting with conviction, “But I gave it absolutely everything I had!”

In another moment, Sohin — who had just claimed he no longer talks badly about people — suddenly started arguing with the MC, prompting ano to step in: “Didn’t you just say you weren’t doing that anymore?” The MC also confessed to being nervous working alongside Sohin, turning the tension into more laughs for the audience.

Closing Messages

In her closing remarks, Watanabe encouraged fans to post their reactions after seeing the film, adding in character as Keroro: “The more you post, the smoother the Earth invasion goes. Please do your part!” Kozakura said the film has funny scenes, parody moments, and genuinely moving scenes, warning, “If you don’t have fun — Tamama Impact!” Sohin urged audiences to keep an eye out for the parody references, while ano described it as “a ‘problematic’ work in the best possible way (laughs)” and asked fans to show love for the opening theme.

The event closed with a surprise performance of “Mata Kaette Kita Kero! to March” by everyone on stage. As the familiar melody filled the hall and the audience clapped along, the Keroro mascot costume jumped and spun around, bringing the event to a lively end.
