Anime studio Twin Engine has released the second trailer for The Ribbon Hero, its upcoming anime film based on Osamu Tezuka‘s classic manga Princess Knight (Ribbon no Kishi). The new trailer introduces additional cast members and previews the film’s official theme song.
Theme Song and New Cast
The theme song is titled “Reborn”, performed by Japanese/Korean group Girls Archives, and can be heard in the newly released trailer.
The newly announced cast members are:
- Kōki Uchiyama as Velvet, a leading figure in the religious organization Mitra

The lead role of Sapphire is voiced by Saya of comedy duo Lalande. According to Netflix, this marks Saya’s first leading role in a feature-length animated production.
Synopsis
Sapphire is a princess of a kingdom that no longer exists. After losing everything in her homeland of Silverland to a catastrophe known as “Nergal,” she wanders in despair until she arrives in Goldland, where the warmth of its people begins to rekindle hope within her.
But just as she settles into her new life, the calamity Nergal resurfaces — threatening to reduce this land to the same ashes as her homeland.
“I won’t lose anything ever again. And I won’t let anyone else lose anything either.”
Wiping away her tears, the girl takes up her sword, ties her ribbon, and resolves to defy her fate. This is the story of a lone hero who stands against destiny.
