The live-action drama Kenka Dokugaku (also known internationally as Viral Hit) launched as a Netflix worldwide exclusive on June 11, 2026, with all six episodes dropping simultaneously. It is the first live-action adaptation of the massively popular Korean webtoon of the same name, which has accumulated over 2.2 billion cumulative reads globally.
Where to Watch: Netflix Only
A survey of major Japanese streaming platforms confirmed that Kenka Dokugaku is available exclusively on Netflix. DMM TV, U-NEXT, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, ABEMA, Lemino, FOD, TELASA, Disney+, TVer, and YouTube all carry no version of the drama. The DVD rental service TSUTAYA DISCAS does not stock it either, as it is a Netflix original production.
Netflix subscription plans (tax included):
- Ad-supported Standard: ¥890/month
- Standard: ¥1,590/month
- Premium: ¥2,290/month
All six episodes are included within the monthly subscription at no extra charge.
Synopsis
Shimura Kota is a high school student at the very bottom of the social ladder, struggling to support his seriously ill mother while enduring daily bullying from delinquents. One day, a chance brawl is accidentally live-streamed to the world and goes viral. Seizing the moment, Kota begins teaching himself to fight using online tutorial videos and launches a live-streaming channel called “Kenka Dokugaku,” kicking off his underdog uprising against an unjust world.
Highlights

How It Differs from the Anime Version
A TV anime adaptation of Kenka Dokugaku aired on Fuji TV’s “+Ultra” block in 2024 and is available on multiple streaming platforms. While both the anime and the 2026 live-action drama share the same source material, they are entirely separate productions with different casts and different distribution. Viewers looking specifically for the Suzuka Ouji-led live-action version must use Netflix.
