The fantasy adventure manga Soara to Mamono no Ie by Yamaji Hidenori has been officially announced for a TV anime adaptation in 2027. The announcement comes alongside an Ultra Teaser Visual, an Ultra Teaser PV featuring the first animated footage, and the full reveal of the main cast and key staff.

Story

Set in a fantasy world, Soara to Mamono no Ie follows Soara, a girl raised from birth solely to fight monsters. Before she can even see her first battle, the war between humans and monsters abruptly ends, leaving her without purpose. Wandering aimlessly, she crosses paths with Kiriku and his fellow dwarves — craftsmen known as “Demon Realm Architects” who build dream homes for monsters. Their chance encounter slowly begins to reshape Soara’s destiny.

Comments from the Team

Yamaji Hidenori (Original Author)

“I am truly grateful to every reader who has supported this work. Watching so many talented professionals pour their energy into this anime reminds me of Soara, Kiriku, and the others all working together to build a single ‘house.’ I am completely convinced this will become a wonderful ‘house’ — an anime — that everyone can be proud of.”

Hasegawa Ikumi (as Soara)

“When I first read the original manga, I was captivated by its heartwarming story and the intricately drawn world. Watching the houses that Kiriku and the others build filled me with excitement, like a child reading a picture book. I’m truly happy to be living in this world as Soara.”

Murase Ayumu (as Kiriku)

“Beyond the story’s originality, I was drawn in by Yamaji-sensei’s extraordinary artwork, the unique charm of the monsters, and above all, the way Kiriku lives and the charisma he carries. Recording sessions have been a joy with the diverse guest cast each episode.”

Ozaki Takaharu (Director)

“The moment I opened the manga I was pulled straight into its world. House-building here connects people, worlds, and even time itself. The series has a wonderful, almost mysterious appeal — complex in its layering yet simple and satisfying to follow. I’m sure viewers will find themselves feeling warm inside before they even realize it.”

Hisao Ayumu (Series Composition)

“Every panel of this manga is packed with fun, excitement, and passion. I’m delighted to be involved in bringing it to animation, and I hope audiences today will connect with its core message: that a comfortable place to belong makes conflict unnecessary.”

Iwasa Tomoko (Character Design)

“I still remember the excitement I felt looking at the cover of Volume 1. I want to carefully portray the shifts in Soara’s heart as she journeys alongside Kiriku and the others, as well as the endearing, expressive faces of the monsters.”

Tsubakiyama Hinako (Music)

“Kiriku and the others’ house-building is about giving form to someone’s wish to say ‘I want to be here.’ I was drawn to the warmth of this story and composed music that I hope can gently accompany its tender yet powerful spirit.”

Special Campaign

To celebrate the anime announcement, a giveaway campaign will award signed visual posters bearing the autographs of Hasegawa Ikumi and Murase Ayumu to three lucky winners. The official website will also progressively release footage of wood-carving artist Poppo no Kibori-ya-san creating original works inspired by Soara to Mamono no Ie.
