TV anime Ibittekonai Gibo to Gishi (The Stepmother and Stepsisters Who Don’t Bully Me), based on the manga by Otsuji, has released scene cuts and a synopsis for its first episode ahead of the July 8, 2026 premiere.
Episode 1 Synopsis
The first episode shares its title with the series itself. It follows Nakamura Michi, the illegitimate daughter of a distinguished family, who has lived a modest but happy life with her mother. When her mother suddenly passes away, Michi is taken in by the main Kozo household. Burdened by guilt over her birth as a concubine’s child, she prostrates herself and braces for the worst — only to find that her stepmother and stepsisters welcome her with overwhelming warmth and kindness.
Pre-Air Special
On July 1, 2026, a pre-broadcast special was released on YouTube featuring four of the main cast members: Suzuki Hina (Michi), Kujira (Kozo Teru), Serizawa Yu (Kozo Marika), and Nukui Yuka (Kozo Arisa). The special also included a first look at the opening footage from Episode 1.
