Pony Canyon announced on Thursday that Witch and Hound (Majo to Ryōken), the fantasy light novel series by Kamitsuki Rainy, is getting a television anime adaptation. The anime’s official website launched alongside a teaser promotional video, a teaser visual, and the first staff announcements.

Story
The kingdom of Amelia — a dragon realm with a monopoly on magical power — is once again on the march under the ferocious Queen Amelia. Her sights are set on Campusfellow, a small land of fire and iron that seems destined to fall. Desperate to save his country, Lord Bud Grace devises a last-resort plan: forge an alliance with the legendary figure known only as the Witch. Accompanied by Rollo, an assassin called the “Black Dog” who is versed in every method of killing, they set out to negotiate with the first witch — also known as the Mirror Witch.
About the Source Material
Kamitsuki Rainy launched the light novel series, illustrated by LAM, in October 2020 under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint. The sixth volume shipped in December 2024.
Minori Tsukahara‘s manga adaptation ran on Square Enix’s Manga UP! website from May 2023 until August 2025. Square Enix published the fourth and final compiled volume in August 2025. Yen Press is releasing the manga in English, with the first volume due in November.
