The synopsis and preview stills for Episode 1 of the TV anime BLACK TORCH have been officially released. The series is based on the manga by Takaki Tsuyoshi, published by Shueisha.
Episode 1 Synopsis: “The Future Is in Our Hands”
The premiere episode, titled “The Future Is in Our Hands,” centers on Azuma Jiro, a high school student descended from a line of ninja who possesses the rare ability to communicate with animals. One day, he comes across a wounded black cat named Rago and decides to help it — only to discover that the cat is no ordinary creature, but a mononoke (supernatural spirit) that has just awakened from a long slumber. Preview stills show Jiro facing off with the black cat, as well as his grandfather Azuma Jusei wielding a sword.
