The production team behind the second season of the Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsūjinai (Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms) television anime, based on the manga by Ran Kuze, announced via a teaser video on Friday that the new season will premiere in January 2027.

Staff

Yoshiaki Okumura returns as director at Synergy SP. Yoriko Tomita — known for The Elusive Samurai, both seasons of My Dress-Up Darling, and Senpai is an Otokonoko — takes over series scripts from Kazuyuki Fudeyasu.

Returning from the first season are character designer Mayumi Watanabe, composer Akiyuki Tateyama, and color designer Aiko Yamagami. Nozomi Nakatani (Too Cute Crisis, The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife) joins Noriyoshi Konuma as co-sound director.

New additions include Shinichirō Nagano (Mr. Villain’s Day Off, A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai) as compositing director of photography, replacing Tetsuya Nishimura, and Hiroki Matsumoto (Gugure! Kokkuri-san, The Ossan Newbie Adventurer) as art director, replacing Masakazu Miyake.

Story

Mona is the cutest girl in school — and she knows it. She has put in serious effort to make her high school debut a success, yet nothing she does seems to faze the stone-cold, stoic Medaka Kuroiwa. Still, she refuses to give up. Medaka, for his part, was raised at a temple and taught never to grow close to women. The series follows their heated battle of wills.

Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English both digitally and in print.
