AnimEigo used its panel at Anime Expo on Friday to announce Blu-ray home video plans for five anime titles, ranging from first-ever English-language releases to a brand-new 4K remaster.

Sakon The Ventriloquist (Puppet Master Sakon)

The 26-episode series Sakon The Ventriloquist — also known as Puppet Master Sakon — is based on the manga by Takeshi Obata (Death Note, Hikaru no Go) and Sharaku Marou, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1995 to 1996. AnimEigo will release the series in English for the first time on standard-definition Blu-ray Disc in November.

Moshidora (Drucker in the Dugout!)

Production I.G’s 10-episode anime adaptation of Natsumi Iwasaki‘s business novel Moshi Kōkō Yakyū no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no “Management” o Yondara — widely known as Moshidora or Drucker in the Dugout! — will receive its first English home video release on Blu-ray Disc in December. The novel also spawned a manga serialized in Shueisha’s Super Jump in 2010 and a live-action film.

AD Police Files — 4K UHD Blu-ray

The three-episode OVA AD Police Files, a prequel spinoff of Bubblegum Crisis, will be remastered in 4K and released as one of AnimEigo’s first UHD Blu-ray Discs in January. The set will include both the American and British dubs alongside a new interview with singer Lou Bonnevie. AnimEigo previously released the title on VHS and DVD, and WWWave Corporation’s OceanVeil streaming platform currently carries the earlier AnimEigo version.

House of Five Leaves

The 12-episode anime based on Natsume Ono‘s manga House of Five Leaves will make its HD home video debut on Blu-ray Disc in early 2027. The series originally aired on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block in April 2010; Funimation streamed it simulcast. NIS America released it on DVD in a premium edition in 2012 and a standard edition in 2013, with its license expiring in 2017.

Baby & I (Akachan to Boku)

The 35-episode anime of the Baby & I manga (also known as Akachan to Boku or Baby and Me — AnimEigo notes “Baby & I” is a tentative title and is considering using “Baby and Me”) will receive its first English-language release on standard-definition Blu-ray Disc in 2027. The manga previously inspired a Japanese live-action TV series in 2003 and a Korean live-action film. RetroCrush added the anime to its streaming service in 2022.
