The television anime adaptation of Muchimaro‘s four-panel manga Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru! (Even the Student Council Has Its Holes!) unveiled a character promotional video on Saturday, announcing its lead voice cast member and confirming an October premiere window.
Cast & Staff
Shōgo Sakata will voice the protagonist Mizunoe Ume. Behind the scenes, Naoyuki Tatsuwa — known for directing Ōmuro-ke, Gourmet Girl Graffiti, Nisekoi – False Love, and Promise of Wizard — helms the series at studio Passione. Ryo Imamura (ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister!) handles character design, while Masahiro Yokotani (Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Beelzebub, The Devil Is a Part-Timer!) oversees and writes the series scripts.
Story
Mizunoe Ume joined the student council for one simple reason: to avoid repeating a grade. What he didn’t bargain for was a council packed with eccentrics — an airhead, someone intimidating, a secret pervert, and more. Despite the constant chaos, there’s something oddly endearing about each of them, leaving Ume well and truly stuck in this quirky, charming, and ever-so-slightly naughty slice-of-life comedy.
About the Manga
Muchimaro launched the manga in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2022. The 12th compiled volume shipped on March 17. Seven Seas Entertainment will release the first English-language volume on September 8, and the series is also available digitally via K MANGA.
The manga received an animated promotional ad in July 2024 and won the print category of the 9th Next Manga Awards (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō) in 2023.
Muchimaro previously serialized It’s Just Not My Night: Tale of a Fallen Vampire Queen (Yo ga Yo nara!) on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website from June 2020 to October 2021; Seven Seas has released all three volumes in English.
