Episode 1 Synopsis: “Encounter”

On a spring evening, shy university student Sorano Kakeru reluctantly attends a freshman welcome party at the urging of his dormitory roommate, Narumi. While hanging back from the lively crowd, he notices an oddly isolated pair of seats — occupied by Fuyutsuki Koharu, a young woman who is blind. It seems everyone drifted away once they learned she couldn’t see.

The assertive Hayase then asks Sorano to help Fuyutsuki in class. Though unenthusiastic, a chance encounter — picking up her fallen white cane — leads the two to share tea together, and from that moment their distance begins to close, little by little. Fuyutsuki, who laughs easily and speaks openly about her dreams, is the polar opposite of the guarded Sorano. When she says she wants to see fireworks, he finds himself looking directly at that light for the very first time. It is the beginning of a tender love story between two people searching, each in their own way, for a light to guide them.
