The TV anime Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi (The Elusive Samurai), based on the manga by Yusei Matsui, is teaming up with the immersive entertainment brand Real Escape Game for the very first time. The collaborative event, officially titled Real Escape Game × TV Anime “Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi”: Kiki Semaru Senjou kara no Dasshutsu (“Escape from the Demon-Haunted Battlefield”), will launch on September 3 at Tokyo Mystery Circus in Tokyo, with subsequent runs planned in Aichi and Osaka.
Story and Gameplay
The event is set in Yakumo Village, a small settlement near the Suwa Grand Shrine featured in the series. The original story begins when Hojo Tokiyuki and the Tokiwakato group arrive on an inspection visit, only to be caught off guard by a sudden enemy assault that turns the village into a battlefield.
Players must cooperate with Tokiyuki and his companions, deciphering surviving military texts and reading the ever-shifting tides of battle to survive a “life-or-death game of tag.” The event is designed to let participants personally experience the series’ core appeal: “read the situation, devise a strategy, and forge a path by running.”
Exclusive Artwork and Merchandise
A specially drawn key visual created exclusively for the event has also been revealed. It depicts the silhouette of an enemy general wreathed in flames, facing a steely-eyed Tokiyuki. Original merchandise featuring this illustration is also planned for sale at the event.
