To mark the theatrical release of Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikai! Ora no Yokai Bake-shon, the 33rd entry in the long-running film series, a special-edit version of Crayon Shin-chan: Cho Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers will air on TV Asahi’s network on July 26 — its first-ever free-to-air broadcast.
About “Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers”
Released in August last year as the 32nd film in the series, “Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers” is set in India and follows Shinnosuke and the Kasukabe Defense Force as they scramble to save their friend Bo-chan, who has fallen under the influence of a sinister power. The film is based on the original work by Usui Yoshito and produced by Shin-Ei Animation in association with TV Asahi and ADK.
Special Commemorative Program
Ahead of the broadcast, on July 25 at 27:00 (i.e., 3:00 a.m. on July 26), TV Asahi’s network will air a special program titled Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Shinsaku Kokai Kinen: Nohara-ke to Yukai na Yokai ga Natsu no Daiboken SP.
The program will feature the following guests:
- Ito Sairi — voice cast member in the new film
- Sakamoto and Nakatani of comedy duo Mayurika — also voice cast in the new film
- Kobayashi Yumiko — the voice of Shinnosuke
Together they will tackle a quiz about the Crayon Shin-chan series, share behind-the-scenes stories from the recording sessions, and highlight the key attractions of the upcoming film.
33rd Film Opens July 31
Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikai! Ora no Yokai Bake-shon opens in Japanese cinemas on July 31. The story sees yokai escape from the spirit realm and run amok across Japan — including Akita Prefecture, where the Nohara family is heading for a homecoming trip, and Kasukabe, where Shinnosuke lives. When the Nohara family finds themselves lost in the yokai world, they embark on a grand adventure through a realm that feels both strangely familiar and utterly bizarre.
