The Mob Psycho 100 Anime 10th Anniversary Event: Reunion celebrated the milestone with a brand-new anime short, screened at Fukagawa Mirai Hall in Kawaguchi City, Saitama on Sunday. The short is now available to stream online with English subtitles.
Short Film Details
The new short brings back fan-favorite characters Reigen, Shigeo (“Mob”), Dimple, and Tome, set once again at the Spirits and Such Consultation Office. Yuzuru Tachikawa handled directing, writing, storyboarding, and technical direction for the project, while original anime character designer Yoshimichi Kameda returned as animation director and also drew a special anniversary illustration. Kameda noted that the original production team reunited specifically to create this short.
Manga Background
Creator ONE — also known for One-Punch Man — launched Mob Psycho 100 on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday web service in 2012, later expanding to the Manga ONE app in 2014. The series concluded in December 2017, with the 16th and final compiled volume released in April 2018. Dark Horse Comics publishes the manga and its Mob Psycho 100: Reigen spinoff in English.
Anime History
The first anime season premiered in Japan in July 2016, followed by the second season in January 2019. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons simulcast with Japan, while Funimation produced English dubs and released both seasons on home video. Season one also aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami block beginning in October 2018.
The event anime Mob Psycho 100 REIGEN: The Miraculous Unknown Psychic debuted in March 2018, with Crunchyroll streaming both subtitled and dubbed versions.
A live-action adaptation premiered on Netflix in Japan in January 2018 and internationally in May 2018.
Mob Psycho 100 III, the third anime season, launched on October 5, 2022. Crunchyroll streamed it worldwide outside Asia in both Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub.
