Manga artist Tomofumi Ogasawara has launched the long-announced official crossover between Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. The series, titled Shin Kidō Senki Gundam W x Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – Minuet Zero (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing x Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Minuet Zero), debuted on Kadokawa’s KadoComi digital manga platform on Friday. Kōjirō Taniguchi of Sunrise is credited with the scenario.
A Natural Fit for the Artist
Ogasawara is no stranger to either franchise. He previously drew the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers manga adaptation as well as the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection manga, making him an ideal choice to helm this crossover project.
Gundam Wing’s Ongoing Revival
The launch follows a May announcement at the “Gundam Conference Spring 2026” livestream, where Bandai Namco Filmworks board director and producer Naohiro Ogata revealed that the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing franchise would be receiving a “new visual project.” The franchise marked its 30th anniversary last year, screening a promotional video at San Diego Comic-Con International. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz also returned to U.S. theaters in 4K, with screenings beginning last fall.
Code Geass Turns 20
The crossover manga is one of several projects unveiled at the “Code Geass Project ‘To 20th’ Event” in December, celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary. Other announcements included:
- An all-new anime titled Code Geass Hoshi Oi no Aspal
- The television broadcast of Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, scheduled for July 2026
- Revival screenings of the franchise’s 13 films in Japan, held every first and third Tuesday and Thursday of the month from January 6 through June 25
