The anime film Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to has announced a premiere stage greeting event to be held in Niigata Prefecture — the very setting of the story — on July 19, 2026. Voice actors Rie Takahashi, Nanami Yamashita, and Kento Shiraishi are confirmed to appear on stage.
Stage Greeting Details
The film opens in cinemas on July 17, 2026, and the stage greeting will take place at two venues: T·Joy Niigata Bandai and T·Joy Nagaoka. The cast is expected to share their feelings about celebrating the film’s release in the city that inspired it, as well as behind-the-scenes stories about recording dialogue in the local Nagaoka dialect (長岡弁).
New Scene Cuts from Nagaoka
Alongside the event announcement, new scene cuts from the film have been released, showcasing real-life Nagaoka landmarks including Nagaoka Station, Nagaoka High School, Nakaike Bridge, and Hirakata Shrine. Among the newly revealed images is a scene depicting the launch of the “Shiragiku (白菊)” fireworks at the Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks (長岡まつり大花火大会).
The Shiragiku — three shells of pure white fireworks — have been launched at the Nagaoka Festival every year since 2003. They are fired at 10:30 p.m. on August 1, the anniversary of the wartime air raids on Nagaoka, as a solemn tribute to those who lost their lives.
