The production team behind Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 2, “SUPER SPARTAN ii + JUNK JUNGLE i,” set to air on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, on the Kansai TV/Fuji TV network.
About the Series
Ghost in the Shell is a landmark cyberpunk science-fiction franchise set in a near future where information networks and cyborg technology have advanced to the point where people can directly connect their brains to a digital world. The story follows a special operations unit led by Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body cyborg, as they combat cybercrime. The franchise originates from Shirow Masamune‘s manga, first published in 1989, and has since been adapted into anime, a Hollywood live-action film, and numerous video games — influencing creators and pop culture worldwide.
This latest entry is produced by Science SARU, the acclaimed studio behind DAN DA DAN. The series marks the feature directorial debut of Moko-chan, who previously served as assistant director on DAN DA DAN and has contributed to many Science SARU productions.
