Otakon 2026 has revealed an extensive guest lineup headlined by Kazuki Higashiji, a background art director best known for his work with P.A. Works and several landmark anime productions.
About Kazuki Higashiji
Higashiji has served as background art director on a number of acclaimed titles, including Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Maquia – When the Promised Flower Blooms, Angel Beats!, Hanasaku Iroha – Blossoms for Tomorrow, and Charlotte.

Fan Art Ban in Dealers Room
The convention announced in January that, beginning with the 2026 event, the sale of fan art will no longer be permitted in the dealers room. Dealers wishing to sell fan art may instead apply for a spot in the artist alley without penalty.

Otakon 2026 is scheduled for July 31–August 2, 2026 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
