To coincide with the Hiroshima run of 「Pokémon × 工芸展 ―美とわざの大発見―」 (Pokémon × Kogei-ten: A Grand Discovery of Beauty and Craft) at the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum, a special confectionery tie-in has gone on sale: the 「ポケモン×工芸展 もみじ饅頭詰合せ」 (Pokémon × Kogei-ten Momiji Manju Assortment).
A Franchise That Conquered the World
Pokémon — short for Pocket Monsters — began as a pair of Game Boy titles, Pocket Monsters Red & Green, released in 1996, and quickly grew into a global phenomenon spanning trading card games, TV anime, and films. The anime series, which first aired in 1997, is still ongoing. A new chapter launched in April 2023 with dual protagonists Liko and Roy, and the stop-motion Netflix co-production Pokémon Concierge is also currently streaming.
An Elegant Exhibition-Exclusive Package
The packaging was created exclusively for the Hiroshima exhibition. It features a traditional Japanese pattern design adorned with gold foil-stamped maple leaves that echo the aesthetic of the Kogei-ten exhibition. The interior of the box is printed with photographs of artworks on display, making the package a keepsake in its own right.

Each box contains five momiji manju from the beloved Hiroshima confectioner Nishikido (にしき堂):
