Project Background

Sentai Filmworks subsequently released that film on home video and select digital platforms.
About the Franchise
The franchise is based on the original manga by Hiroshi Hiroyama, which reimagines Illyasviel von Einzbern from Fate/stay night as a magical girl in an alternate universe. The original manga ran in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine from 2007 to 2008, with several sequel manga series following thereafter. Seven Seas has licensed the series as Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: The Complete Manga Collection.
The manga has been adapted into four television anime series:
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!! (premiered July 2016)
The franchise also includes two anime films: Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow, which opened in Japan in August 2017, and the original video anime Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Prisma Phantasm, which screened in Japanese theaters in June 2019.
