The anime special Pokémon: The Origin is scheduled to air on BS12 Twellv as part of its Sunday Anime Theater programming block on Sunday, August 2, at 7:00 PM.
Background and Story
The special is based on Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green — the very first entries in the Pokémon game series — and is set in the Kanto region. It follows a boy named Red who receives Charmander from Professor Oak as his first partner Pokémon and sets off on his journey. The special originally aired on the TV Tokyo network on October 2, 2013.
Alongside Red, the story features his rival Green, Gym Leader Brock, and the villainous Team Rocket led by their boss Giovanni.
