GKIDS has begun streaming the official trailer for the 10th anniversary 4K remaster theatrical screening of Makoto Shinkai’s your name. (君の名は。) in North America. The run is set to kick off on August 14.

Synopsis

One morning, rural schoolgirl Mitsuha and city kid Taki wake up to find they have inexplicably switched bodies. The two strangers must muddle through each other’s lives, navigating an uneasy balance of closeness and distance. When they finally resolve to find one another, the true nature of their bond threatens to determine their fate forever.

GKIDS notes that the film’s richly detailed depictions of sweeping countryside vistas and bustling city streets — set to an unforgettable score by RADWIMPS — elevated its central romance to an epic of destiny and longing, and cemented writer-director Makoto Shinkai as a new master of animation.
