The episode visual series is an ongoing initiative that distills the concept and theme of each episode into a unique poster artwork. For Episode 5, the visual was created by graphic designer Daiya Tanabe (maxilla).
Episode 5 Story Overview
In “PHANTOM FUND,” Motoko Kusanagi infiltrates the headquarters of Sagawa Electronics to investigate corruption concealed within the company’s underground factory expansion, while Batou and the rest of the team head directly to the underground facility. Their mission: to uncover the true objective of combat cyborg Coil Krasnov, a key figure at the center of the case.
Series Information
Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL is the latest entry in the Ghost in the Shell franchise, based on the original manga by Shirow Masamune (published by Kodansha). The series is animated by Science SARU and began airing in the Summer 2026 season. Maaya Sakamoto voices Motoko Kusanagi.
