The TV anime adaptation of Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun (Glasses, Sometimes, Yankee Boy), based on the manga by Naruki serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend, has been officially confirmed for a 2027 broadcast. Two teaser visuals and the first wave of staff information have been unveiled alongside the announcement.
Two Teaser Visuals
The first visual, dubbed the “Tokimeki (Heart-Fluttering) Version,” depicts the two leads, Momose and Ichikura, in a close, romantic composition. The second, the “Yankee Version,” expands the cast to include Igarashi, Sakyō, Yachiyo, and Yatarō, presenting a far more intimidating atmosphere. A teaser PV using both visuals has also been published on YouTube.

Director’s Comment
Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun is getting an anime! Whether you call him “sometimes a yankee” or “a yankee who makes your heart race”… the excitement of first love and youth, mixed with the thrill of something a little scary… A guy who genuinely believes that wearing glasses makes him look like a serious student, paired with a girl who’s almost always thinking something rude — put those two together and of course the audience is going to have a great time. We’ll be carrying over the wonderful atmosphere of the original into the anime, so whether you’re already a fan or about to become one, please look forward to it.
About the Series
