The production team behind the television anime adaptation of I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand (Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Ittekara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita.), the light novel series written by Ezogingitune with illustrations by DeeCHA, announced on Tuesday that voice actor Naoto Kobayashi has joined the cast as Garuvu, a sacred wolf beast. The character made his debut in the anime’s sixth episode, which aired on Monday.
Story
When his party is cornered by an endless tide of demonic forces, Luck chooses to hold the line alone so his comrades can escape with their lives. Through a remarkable combination of fortune, skill, and ingenuity, he manages to hold that line for a full ten years, ultimately emerging victorious on his own. Now he must figure out how to live in a world that sees him simultaneously as a living legend, a seasoned veteran, and a complete newcomer.

Theme Songs
sajou no hana performs the opening theme “Soredemo Donten o Koeteyuku” (Even So, We Go Past the Cloudy Skies), while rock-idol girl group MEISHOHIKOKAI handles the ending theme “Ari Kitari na Nichijō to Kōun na Hibi e” (Onwards to Ordinary and Fortunate Days).
Broadcast & Streaming
The anime launched first on Amazon Prime Video on July 3, followed by ABEMA and d Anime Store alongside a television debut on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS11 on July 6. AT-X began airing the series on July 9. The premiere was originally scheduled for April but was delayed to July so the team could deliver a more polished product. Crunchyroll is streaming the series simultaneously with its Japanese broadcast.
Source Material
The web novel began serialization on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in June 2018. The light novel’s first volume was published in February 2019, with the eighth volume due on July 15. A manga adaptation illustrated by Chaco Abeno with composition by Kitsune Tennōji launched on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform in August 2019; its 19th compiled volume was released on April 7. Combined circulation for the novel and manga has surpassed 4.45 million copies.
