Fans of boxing and classic anime have something to look forward to: Hajime no Ippo (はじめの一歩) is coming to ABEMA for the first time, with all three TV anime series totalling 127 episodes, a TV Special, and an OVA available to watch free of charge for a limited period. Broadcasts begin on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. JST, and every episode will remain freely available for one week after its broadcast slot.
About Hajime no Ippo
Hajime no Ippo is a Japanese boxing manga by George Morikawa, serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 1989. The series now spans more than 145 collected volumes and has surpassed a cumulative 100 million copies in circulation.
The story follows Makunouchi Ippo, a high-school student who has long been the target of bullies, until a chance encounter with professional boxer Takamura Mamoru sets him on the path to the ring. Alongside intense, realistic fight sequences, the series is celebrated for its rich cast of rivals, heartfelt human drama, and a generous streak of comedy.
