The official website for Uta no Princess-sama — the female-idol counterpart to the male-idol franchise Uta no Prince-sama — announced last Saturday that the project’s third anniversary concert has been canceled due to “various circumstances.” No further details were given.
Concert Announced, Then Quietly Dropped
The project had announced plans for a third anniversary concert back in December, but never disclosed a date or venue before the cancellation was made public.
About Uta no Princess-sama
The project launched in March 2023 around the concept of time-traveling idols. The characters attend an all-girls school called St. Saotome Girls’ Academy, form an idol group, and find themselves suddenly transported through time. The project currently features two trio units: Flower Candy and Silent Queen.
The Uta no Prince-sama Franchise
The parent franchise is based on Broccoli’s dating simulation game aimed at female players. The first anime adaptation, Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%, premiered in Japan in July 2011. The slapstick romantic comedy follows a female protagonist who enrolls in a performing arts school alongside aspiring male idols. Subsequent seasons tracked seven of those young men after they form the idol group ST☆RISH:

A one-hour TV anime special, Utano☆Princesama♪ Maji Love ST☆RISH Tours: Tabi no Hajimari, aired in July 2022 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original 2011 series and the film’s release.
Most recently, the anime film Gekijōban Utano☆Princesama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX opened in Japan in May 2025.
