Kadokawa announced on Monday that all three episodes of the anime special based on Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka‘s My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) light novel series will air and stream on October 25. The announcement also brought a new teaser trailer, a newly revealed cast member, and the ending theme song artist.
Broadcast and Streaming Schedule
The special will begin airing on TV Tokyo and affiliated stations on October 25 at 7:00 p.m. JST. Streaming on Netflix and other services will follow the same day at 8:30 p.m. JST.
Ending Theme and New Cast
The ending theme song is titled “Prelude no Temae ni: ~for me&you~” (Right Before the Prelude: for me&you), performed by Kashitarō Itō. The newly released teaser previews the track.
M.A.O joins the cast as new character Kimio Nagaba. Returning leads Reina Ueda and Kaito Ishikawa reprise their roles as Miyo and Kudo, respectively.

Takehiro Kubota — who directed the first season, the 2024 OVA, and co-directed the second season with Masayuki Kojima — returns as director for the special at Kinema Citrus, also handling series composition.

Series Background
The second anime season premiered in January 2025 on Tokyo MX, BS11, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and AT-X, with Netflix streaming simultaneously. The first season aired in July 2023 with 12 episodes, and Netflix began worldwide streaming that same month.
An OVA titled “Shiawase no Katachi” (The Shape of Happiness) was bundled with the eighth novel volume on Blu-ray in March 2024, and streamed on Netflix in November 2024 to coincide with Japan’s “Good Couples Day.”
Agitogi and Tsukioka launched the light novel series in January 2019. Yen Press holds the English-language license and describes the story: born to a noble family, Miyo is raised by an abusive stepmother and married off to Kiyoka, a soldier so cold that every previous fiancée fled within three days. With nowhere else to go, Miyo slowly opens her heart to him — and finds her chance at true love and happiness.
Rito Kohsaka‘s manga adaptation has been running on Square Enix’s Gangan Online since December 2018, with Square Enix Manga & Books releasing it in English in print and digital formats. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in March 2023, debuting at #1 at the box office and earning 654 million yen (approximately US$4.97 million) in its first three days.
