IMAGICA Infos’ new boys-love label BALLOON announced on Thursday that it is producing a light anime adaptation of Toworu Miyata‘s boys-love manga Aoharu Once More.
Staff
- Director: Rikako Machida (series composition on the Saved by the Ice Cold Prince’s Embrace series) at IMAGICA Infos / Imageworks Studio
- Music: Morrigan (WAVE)
- Production Supervision: Kazuya Takahashi
Synopsis
The story follows Hayato Kobayashi, who finds himself lost in memories of his high school days — the soft wind drifting through the room, sunlight streaming in through the window, and the dazzling smile of the beautiful Ritsu Onishi.
Manga Release
ShuCream released the manga’s first compiled volume in June 2025. Tokyopop has licensed the manga for an English-language release. Animate International is also releasing Miyata’s other works — Living With Him, Delivery Hug Therapy, and 100dB Pouring into You — in English. Living With Him previously inspired a live-action series adaptation in April 2024.
About the BALLOON Label
Aoharu Once More is the third project from BALLOON, which launched in partnership with Dai Nippon Printing (DNP), CYBIRD, and BLUE RIGHTS last year.
- First project: A light anime adaptation of Tenma Asahi’s light novel Saioshi no Gikei o Mederu Tame, Nagaikishimasu! (I’ll Live a Long Life to Dote on My Favorite Stepbrother!), which premiered on January 3; OceanVeil began streaming it on January 6.
- Second project: A light anime adaptation of Kaoruko Miyama’s BL manga Perfect Addiction, which debuted on July 8 via OceanVeil.
The “light anime” concept was pioneered by DNP as a way to produce animation at lower cost and on a faster schedule than traditional workflows. BALLOON aims to release four new titles in fiscal year 2026, with a long-term goal of producing 10 or more projects per year by 2028.
