Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Set to Premiere October 11, 2026

The anime Dragon Ball Super: Beerus has been officially confirmed to premiere on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 23:15 JST on Fuji TV and its nationwide network affiliates. The series will also be available for early streaming on Prime Video and U-NEXT.

Alongside the premiere announcement, the production team unveiled a new Super Opening Visual and a Super Opening Trailer incorporating newly produced footage, giving fans worldwide their first real taste of the series ahead of its debut.

An Enhanced Reimagining of a Classic Arc

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is not a simple rerun. It is a fully revamped version of the original Dragon Ball Super series — for which Akira Toriyama served as the creator, story writer, and character designer — rebuilt from the ground up with a large number of new cuts, redrawn scenes, and a restructured narrative. The result is an enhanced edition that promises greater intensity in battle sequences and a more faithful recreation of the source material.

Story: The God of Destruction Awakens

The story takes place several years after the fierce battle against Majin Buu, during a brief period of peace on Earth. At the same time, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from a long slumber. His overwhelming power — capable of obliterating entire planets — fills even the Kais and Supreme Kais with dread. When Beerus catches wind of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, he sets his sights on Goku, and the Earth is suddenly thrust into the threat of annihilation. Thus begins a universe-shaking battle between the God of Destruction and Goku and his allies.

The newly revealed key visual features a smirking Beerus holding the Earth in his grasp, set against a determined Goku ready to fight. Beyond Frieza — whose return was announced at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event — the visual also hints at new threats and characters that suggest a broader story scope.

Opening and Ending Theme Songs Revealed

The Super Opening Trailer also confirmed the series’ theme songs:

  • Opening Theme (OP): “Onogami” by Megatera Zero
  • Ending Theme (ED): “Kanpeki no Peki” by Vickeblanka

Megatera Zero’s opening track pairs a powerhouse vocal performance with driving guitar work, accompanying enhanced battle visuals of Goku and Beerus. Vickeblanka’s ending theme is an upbeat number carried by his clear, melodic voice, depicting the various companions each facing their own battles.

Comment from Megatera Zero (OP: “Onogami”)

“I’ve watched Dragon Ball since I was little — it’s had a huge influence on my life. I wrote ‘Onogami’ to express those who fight believing only in their own strength — not just Goku and his friends, but even the powerful rivals who stand against them. Being part of such a beloved national franchise is truly a joy. Thank you so much!”

Comment from Vickeblanka (ED: “Kanpeki no Peki”)

“As a kid I’d frantically flip through manga pages and wake up early every week to watch the anime. Years later, being able to contribute as a musician is a genuine honor. I poured everything inside me into this song — the ‘strength’ and ‘courage’ Dragon Ball has always depicted, but also the ‘sorrow’ and ‘injustice’ that have always lurked in its shadow.”
